AvantGuard Reports Peer-Reviewed AVA-003 Results Against Candida auris

AvantGuard highlighted a peer-reviewed study comparing its investigational antiseptic AVA-003 with chlorhexidine gluconate, a commonly used antiseptic, in a preclinical Candida auris skin-decolonization model. In the three-day treatment comparison, 1.2% AVA-003 significantly outperformed 2% chlorhexidine at both tested skin sites.

The study also reported fungicidal activity against four major C. auris clades in laboratory testing and no observed skin irritation in treated animals. These are preclinical findings; further safety and clinical evaluation remain necessary. Red Bear Angels continues to track the company’s progress.
