Harvey Kinzelberg


Founder and President of Sequel Capital LLC & Corporation since 1992, Mr. Kinzelberg continues a successful tradition in financial services.  Sequel specializes in private equity investing as well as lease financing for companies who seek cash flow and accounting advantages for their capital asset investments.  Sequel, through a 9-year partner Resource Finance Company, provided working capital loans to Independent Sales Organizations (ISO’s) who sell credit-card processing services to merchants nations-wide.  Sequel then expanded to provide financing directly to such merchants in the Merchant-Processing Cash Advance space, with a close affiliation with Rapid Capital Funding.  However, both the ISO Lending and Merchant Cash Advance, secured lending businesses, have been concluded.

Sequel also has provided consulting services in Fixed Income Portfolio Structuring & Management as well as in Strategic and Capital Planning/Alternatives to corporate clients.  Sequel has leased or financed & uniquely understands a variety of high-tech and traditional capital equipment including: Computer processors and peripheral equipment, mainframe computer software and Systems design services, tele-communication and VSAT equipment, railcars and locomotives (Sequel Railcar Leasing Corporation), printing equipment, furniture and fixtures, manufacturing equipment and fork lift trucks, ships, shipping equipment & containers (Sequel Railcar Leasing Corp), and medical diagnostic, clinical & other hospital critical equipment.
In 1979 Mr. Kinzelberg founded Meridian Leasing Corporation.  Under his twelve year leadership, Mr. Kinzelberg grew Meridian to more than $650 million in annual sales and a lease portfolio approaching $4 billion.  Meridian grew to become the 2nd largest independent computer equipment lessor in the United States.  Prior to starting Meridian, Mr. Kinzelberg was a top salesman form IBM and was the #1 lease finance salesman for Itel Leasing Corporation before founding Meridian.  In 1992, after selling Meridian he established Sequel Capital Corporation.

Mr. Kinzelberg has been recognized nationally as Entrepreneur of the Year, by such prestigious organizations as Ernst & Young, Inc. Magazine, Cornell University, and The University of Illinois-Chicago & Arthur Anderson. Mr. Kinzelberg holds a bachelor’s degree in Operations Research/Industrial Engineering from Cornell University, is a member of Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor Society, and a master’s degree in Engineering-Economic Planning from Stanford University.
For 8 years, Mr. Kinzelberg was an active member of the Board of Trustees of Cornell University, serving on its Investment committee, Buildings and Properties committee and Student Affairs and Campus Life committee. He was then elected Trustee Emeritus, for life by the Cornell Board. He is also a member of the Executive Committee of the Advisory Board to the Cornell University Entrepreneurship and Personal Enterprise Program, now E@C, and was a member of the Advisory Board to the Cornell Center for the Environment.  He endowed the Engineering College program Entrepreneurship for Engineers and its Directorship, as well as Kinzelberg Hall which houses the Cornell Department of Nutrition. He served as a member of the Board of Trustees of Highland Park Hospital for 10 years, holding positions on their investment and finance committees.
