Red Bear Angels portfolio company Biotia has announced a significant clinical milestone: the launch of BIOTIA-DX Resistance, its clinically approved antimicrobial resistance profiling tool, now integrated into the New York State CLEP-approved BIOTIA-ID Urine Test.
The technology enables comprehensive pathogen detection and antimicrobial resistance prediction directly from urine samples, helping clinicians manage recurrent or complicated urinary tract infections (UTIs) with greater precision. By providing actionable resistance insights at diagnosis, the test supports more targeted antibiotic selection and reduces reliance on empiric broad-spectrum therapy.
Adding to this clinical launch, Biotia's BIOTIA-DX Resistance tool claimed the top spot at the international 2026 CAMDA (Critical Assessment of Massive Data Analysis) Antimicrobial Resistance Challenge — the company's second consecutive win. This independent validation confirms the platform's accuracy and robustness across real-world metagenomic datasets. The BIOTIA-ID Urine Test is now available for clinical use across all 50 U.S. states.
