Intrommune Therapeutics Reports Promising OMEGA Phase 1 Peanut Allergy Data

Red Bear Angels portfolio company Intrommune Therapeutics presented promising exploratory efficacy data from its OMEGA Phase 1 clinical trial at the 2026 Eastern Allergy Conference in Palm Beach, Florida. The findings showed that 100% of adult participants who completed 48 weeks of treatment with INT301 — delivered via a novel Oral Mucosal Immunotherapy (OMIT) toothpaste — tolerated at least 600 mg of peanut protein, representing a more than 50-fold increase from baseline.

The OMEGA trial is a double-blind, placebo-controlled study evaluating INT301 in peanut-allergic adults, a population traditionally considered more difficult to treat. These exploratory results, presented by CEO Michael Nelson, reinforce Intrommune's conviction that the OMIT platform warrants further investigation in larger, adequately powered efficacy trials. Food allergies currently affect over 220 million people worldwide, including approximately 33 million in the United States.

"We are particularly excited that these results were obtained in an adult population," said Nelson. Intrommune's approach — integrating allergen delivery into the daily routine of brushing teeth — is designed to dramatically improve adherence compared to existing treatments. The company looks forward to advancing INT301 into larger clinical trials to fully characterize its potential.
